Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 2025-02-06
MindVista ("we," "our," or "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website (mindvista.ca). This Privacy Policy is intended to be easy to understand, and we avoid legal jargon whenever possible. However, to ensure transparency and protection, we provide links detailing how third-party services handle your information. Below, you'll find a complete list of the data we collect and how we use it.
Cookies and Local Storage
We do not use cookies on our website. We use local storage to remember your preferences, such as your choice of dark or light theme. This data is stored on your device only and is not transmitted to our servers. You can manage or clear this data at any time through your browser settings.
Information We Collect
We collect only the following information:
1. Contact Form Submissions
When you fill out a contact form on our website, we use Web3Forms to process your submission. The information you provide, such as your name, email address, and message, is used solely for responding to your inquiry. Contact form submissions may be retained indefinitely unless a deletion request is made. Web3Forms' privacy policy may be found here: https://web3forms.com/privacy.
We use hCaptcha to prevent spam and ensure user actions on our online service (such as submitting a contact form) meet our security requirements. To do this, hCaptcha analyzes the behavior of the website or mobile app visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website or mobile app visitor enters a part of the website or app with hCaptcha enabled. For the analysis, hCaptcha evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, how long the visitor has been on the website or app, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis will be forwarded to IMI. hCaptcha analysis in the "invisible mode" may take place completely in the background. Website or app visitors are not advised that such an analysis is taking place if the user is not shown a challenge. For more information on this process, hCaptcha's privacy policy may be found here: https://www.hcaptcha.com/privacy.
2. Newsletter Subscriptions
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address via Mailchimp to send you updates and news. While you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, we may retain your email address and subscription data in an archive for record-keeping purposes. Mailchimp's policies may be found here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/.
3. Website Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to collect anonymous website usage data. This data helps us understand website performance and improve user experience. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected through analytics, and we retain this data in accordance with Vercel’s retention policies. Vercel's privacy policy for Web Analytics and Speed Insights may be found at: https://vercel.com/docs/analytics/privacy-policy and https://vercel.com/docs/speed-insights/privacy-policy respectively.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To respond to your inquiries submitted through the contact form.
- To send newsletters to subscribers.
- To analyze website performance and improve functionality.
Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your information with third parties, except as necessary to:
- Provide the services mentioned above (e.g., Web3Forms, Mailchimp, Vercel Web Analytics).
- Comply with legal obligations.
Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy:
- Contact form submissions are retained indefinitely unless you specifically request deletion.
- Newsletter subscription data is retained indefinitely for record-keeping purposes, even after you unsubscribe.
- Anonymous analytics data is retained according to Vercel’s retention policies.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: Request access to the data we have about you.
- Correction: Request correction of any inaccurate information.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data, subject to legal and contractual limitations.
- Unsubscribe: Opt-out of our newsletter at any time. Your data is not deleted when you unsubscribe, and you must submit a request of deletion to have your information removed.
You do not have the right to access, modify, or request the removal of non-personally identifiable information, as it is fully anonymized. Since we have no way to track this data, we cannot delete it, nor can we request its removal from any third parties.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at mindvista.mcgill@gmail.com.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
